Most people focus on purity percentages, but that’s only one part of the equation.
A few other things look for:
1. Real Certificates of Analysis (COAs)
A legitimate COA should show:
• batch or lot number
• testing date
• purity results
• testing method (usually HPLC or Mass Spec)

If the same COA is used for every batch or the lab can’t be verified, that’s usually a red flag.
2. Contamination testing (MOST IMPORTANT)
Most companies show purity testing but skip contamination testing.
Endotoxin and Microbial testing are commonly used in pharmaceutical environments to help detect bacterial contamination or toxins.

3. Batch traceability
Legitimate production usually includes lot numbers and batch tracking so products can be traced back to the production run which will coincide with the same lot numbers on testing certifications.
4. Payment and communication practices
If a vendor only accepts wire transfers or crypto and insists on WhatsApp communication, that’s usually a warning sign it’s coming from over seas. Not a peptide company you want to do business with.
